WHAT IS AUTISM?
Autism is a brain-based difference typically identified through disordered or delayed development in communication, behavior, and social emotional skills.
The severity of an individual's Autism is significantly determined by their ability to experience and process sensory input.

WHAT IS NEURODIVERSITY?
A neurodivergent person is one whose neurological development and state are atypical, usually viewed as abnormal or extreme.Â
The term was coined in the neurodiversity movement as an opposite for "neurotypical"; previously the term "neurodiverse" was sometimes applied to individuals for this purpose.

Mrs. Amy Peña, M.S., CCC-SLP, ACAS has been invited by txaeyc Austin to speak at their 2022 annual conference.Â
She will be joining txaeyc at the Thompson Conference Center located at the University of Texas in Austin.
The Austin Chapter of txaeyc promotes and advocates for high-quality early care and education on behalf of young children, birth to age 8, their families and early childhood professionals in diverse and inclusive partnership with others to create a caring community of learners.
